There are few sights more beautiful than Atlanta in the Spring.  Like the mythical phoenix rising from the ashes, our foliage bursts forth from the dormancy of winter with a shower of vibrant colors.  The same can be said of our residential real estate market. While traditionally slower during the cooler months, the housing market comes alive as the temperatures rise.  Pended home sales are up almost 6% versus the same period last year.  The majority of our clients report that their home sold more quickly than they expected and often for a price greater than they originally anticipated.  If you are thinking about making a change in homes, please give us a call to discuss your needs.

Touring Sandy Springs’s new downtown as it readies for debut

Sandy Springs famously went the sovereign route in 2005 and now ranks as the second largest city in metro Atlanta, but this growing Perimeter hub has long lacked a centralized core. This summer, that should change. Construction is entering the home stretch on the City Springs district, which is envisioned as a made-from-scratch civic and cultural nucleus for this city of about 100,000. Ground broke at the 14-acre site in summer 2015, and officials say the Rosser International-designed project being built as a team effort by Carter and Selig Enterprises will debut this summer.

A fashion industry couple gave their midcentury Decatur cottage a glamorous touch

As quick as the click of a Canon’s shutter, fashion photographer Liz Von Hoene decided to buy her 1952 house in Decatur’s Parkwood neighborhood. Even more exciting, she spied original period elements. “I could see a Herman Miller floating sideboard. That was one of the things that made my heart go ka-thunk ka-thunk,” she says.

What’s going on with transit on the Atlanta BeltLine?

When city and transit officials lobbied voters in 2016 to approve an additional sales tax to fund transit, they painted a picture of a truly connected Atlanta. Picture, they said, new rail lines, bus-rapid transit routes, infill MARTA stations. And the piece de resistance? Light-rail along the entire 22-mile loop of the Atlanta BeltLine, with spurs jutting from BeltLine nodes into the urban core, where they would connect with MARTA stations.

Are Atlanta Roadways Ready For An Autonomous Future?

Many of us have a certain vision of how autonomous vehicles, a smart, driverless vehicle, will look like. Whether you have your favorite sci-fi movie or the Jetsons in your mind, the technology is quickly evolving past our imagination and into the real world. After approving regulations this past February, California is now allowing autonomous vehicles to operate on public roads without a back-up human inside ready to jump in just in case something goes awry.
